Suspected DUI driver crashes into fire truck, keeps on driving

Jacob Razo (Gordon County Sheriff's Office)

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — A suspected DUI driver is accused of crashing into a fire truck stopped in traffic, but that didn’t stop him from driving off.

Gordon County deputies say Jacob Razo, 31, crashed into the fire truck at the intersection of Interstate 75 and Hwy. 41 around 1 p.m. They say he drove off while a passenger was trying to get out.

A fire officer found the car a few minutes later at a nearby apartment complex and alerted police.

Officers say the car had obviously been in a wreck with extensive damage to the front and back with air bags deployed inside.

Razo, who they say appeared drunk, kept referring to the officers as “bros” and told the arresting deputies he “was paying for it” in reference to his car.

“Officers noted that fire engines are large, red, and highly visible in traffic,” the sheriff’s office wrote on social media.
