ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Rockdale County Water Resources said Thursday it is extending the Boil Water Advisory for the affected areas in the northern part of the county for an additional 24 hours.
A water main break Tuesday put nearly half the county under a boil water advisory.
County officials said all of the county’s residents north of Interstate 20 should boil their water until further notice.
They said one test out of the 20 samples from water-quality testing required re-testing after inconclusive results before the advisory can be lifted.
Water Resources said staff are collecting the required repeat samples and will continue monitoring conditions throughout.
The advisory will remain in effect until satisfactory test results are received and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division confirms that it may be lifted.
Residents in the affected area should continue following all Boil Water Advisory precautions.

If you’re in the affected areas, you should only be using boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, giving drinking water to your pets and more.
