ATLANTA — The main threat from strong and potentially severe storms this evening will be damaging winds.
Some of the stronger storms may knock down trees or limbs.
Severe Weather Team 2 tracks the storms LIVE on Channel 2 Action News.
Northern Georgia counties have a greater risk of seeing severe weather, but areas including parts of metro Atlanta may also see a strong or severe storm.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for several northern counties until 10 p.m.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said there is also a flash flood threat in north Georgia.

It will dry out overnight with a cold front moving in.
The front will not drop temperatures much, if at all, but you will notice lower humidity.
The morning low will be 77 in Atlanta and mid-70s across much of north Georgia. Temperatures will reach highs in the mid-90s.
It will be mostly sunny with lower humidity for the next couple of days.
