Reward offered for information in brutal attack of 65-year-old woman inside her own home

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that could lead to an arrest of a man who attacked and robbed a DeKalb County woman inside her own home.

The attack happened Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. in the Northcrest neighborhood.

The victim, 65-year-old Lisa Holland, told Channel 2′s Michael Seiden that a robber brutally attacked her and beat her until she was unconscious.

“He was real tall, broad shoulders, dark clothes, and he just immediately threw me down on the floor. He said if I don’t cooperate, he’s going to kill me,” she said.

Holland was able to escape and run across the street to a neighbor’s home to call police. The man left with her purse, keys and cellphone.

DeKalb County police said they used the “Find My iPhone” app on Holland’s phone and got a hit in Norcross, but it ended up taking them to a landfill.

The attack left Holland, who is a two-time cancer survivor and grandmother, with serious facial injuries.

“I really want to catch the guy. I really want to do whatever, so it doesn’t happen again,” Holland said.

Holland’s daughter told Seiden she had surgery on her broken car and is now recovering at a family member’s home.

Police only have a vague description of the suspect and hope that someone will come forward with information. Anyone with information is urged to Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS and can remain anonymous.
