BURKE COUNTY, Ga. — Last night, Burke County deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive person at a residence on Twin Lakes Drive. Upon arrival, officers found a white female and white male who were pronounced dead after emergency services arrived.

Later on in the night, deputies conducted a welfare check at a residence at Tom Bargeron Road, not far from the previous location. Officers found the door opened and swept the property, locating two women dead.
The identities of the four victims have not yet been released, as the investigation is still active and ongoing, but law enforcement has confirmed their ages to be between 25 and 45 years old.
It is believed the two scenes may be connected, but it is not yet confirmed.
Burke County investigators identified Adolphus Christopher Morris as a suspect. Deputies located the car in question and tried to perform a traffic stop, but the car fled.
Deputies ahead of the car used stop sticks, but the driver continued through them. Due to the deflated tires at this point, the car crashed into a tree in Sardis, Ga.
Morris got out of the car and began firing at deputies who returned fire, striking Morris dead.
Morris’s grandmother, who was in the car with him, was not harmed at all during the crash or shooting.
Because this was considered an officer-involved shooting, an independent response team was notified with that investigation still ongoing.
Burke County Sheriff’s office said Morris has been a suspect in previous investigations.
