ATLANTA — Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest after a man was slashed during an altercation in northwest Atlanta.

Police said officers responded to Emory Midtown Hospital on May 27 after the victim suffered a laceration to his right jaw.
According to investigators, the victim and a witness said four men approached them while they were waiting for a vehicle boot to be removed at 950 Marietta St. NW.
Police said one man, described as wearing a gray sweater and having an afro and curly hair, confronted the victim after first engaging with the witness.
A physical altercation followed, and investigators said the man allegedly used a knife-like object to slash the victim’s right jaw and searched his pockets.

The suspect and the other men then got into a gray sedan and drove eastbound on Marietta Street, according to police.
Anyone who recognizes the person of interest in the photo is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and those who provide information may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
