Questions linger 1 year after woman's disappearance

MARIETTA, Ga. — One year after her daughter’s disappearance, a metro Atlanta mother is tearfully making a plea for information that would lead her or police to the young woman’s whereabouts.

Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt spoke with the mother of  Tiffany Whitton after police announced a $2,500 reward for information about her disappearance.

“Maybe she’s out there, maybe she can see this and will know that we love her and want her home,” mother Lisa Daniels said.

Even after the leads have dried up, Tiffany Whitton’s mother still has hope.

She is still trying to figure out what happened to the 27-year-old mother who seemingly disappeared after visiting a Marietta Walmart one year ago.

“I’m just begging. Somebody out there knows where she is, what happened to her, whatever the case may be,” she said.

Daniels has not just been sitting waiting for answers, she created social media pages seeking tips, has distributed fliers and has been to Whitton’s house searching for leads.

Police have not stopped either.

Weeks ago Channel 2 Action News watched as detectives and crime scene techs dug behind a Cobb County home where Tiffany’s ex-boyfriend lived. They found nothing.

In the meantime, Tiffany’s former boyfriend, Ashley Caudle was arrested in a large south Cobb meth bust earlier this year.

He bonded out and Channel 2 learned that drug agents in Cherokee County arrested him in yet another meth operation. He remains in their jail without bond.

Marietta Detective Johnnie Moeller is convinced someone knows where Tiffany is.

“I’ve done more work on this case than any other case I’ve ever worked on and to still not have that one piece of information we need is very frustrating,” Moeller said.

“It makes me angry, but I can’t imagine if knew something about someboy's child who was missing, there's nothing fear, or anything else, would stop me from coming forward and telling what I know,” Daniels.
