New water park to open in Metro Atlanta

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Henry county is touting a new aquatic center that is on track to open in early June.

Commissioner Kevin Lewis gave a behind the scenes tour in a new video posted by Henry County Government.

The new water park will feature a 30-foot slide tower with four types of slides; an “open body” tube slide, a “closed body” tube slide, a speed slide and a mat racer. The mat racer can hold up to four people at once.

The aquatic center also features a lazy river, wave rider, zero-depth kiddie pool, an outdoor lap pool, an indoor competition pool and an ADA compliant therapeutic multi-purpose area.

The indoor pools are temperature-controlled for year-round use. The indoor competition pool features stadium seating for swim meets. The therapy center has specialized areas for water aerobics, aquatic yoga and low-impact workouts.

It is not just attractions. The water park will feature a food truck concession area and a rooftop bar area with views of Henry County. The rooftop area is available for rent. Cabanas are also available for rent.

Crews are plastering the pools this week, according to a video Henry County Government posted. Water is expected in the pools by the end of the week.
