More than 100,000 counterfeit pills seized in raid

WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Walton County Sheriff’s Office says a drug investigation has led to multiple arrests and the seizure of more than 100,000 counterfeit pressed pills.

In one investigation, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation had been investigating the distribution of methamphetamine and the manufacture of counterfeit pills containing methamphetamine at a residence on Dry Pond Road in Monroe.

On Sept. 30, investigators executed a search warrant at the home. Investigators seized trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl, more than 100,000 counterfeit pressed pills and 13 firearms, according to the sheriff’s office.

Angel Linka, Barry Irvin Jr. and Francis Swogger were arrested at the scene.

Linka was charged with manufacturing and trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl trafficking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Irvin was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, while Swogger was charged with obstruction.
