CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Metro Atlanta school districts are limiting students’ time outside because of the heat.
Severe Weather Team 2 says metro Atlanta is currently under a Code Orange day for Monday, meaning there is a moderate health risk from hot weather, primarily affecting individuals who are sensitive to heat or lack adequate cooling.

Clayton County Schools has taken precautions by limiting all district-sanctioned outdoor activities for today, such as physical education classes, recess, and any outdoor activity related to coursework.
The school district encourages parents and guardians to take this information into consideration when planning any outdoor activities for the week, as well as make sure students are dressed in weather-appropriate clothing for school.
