Police search for gunman who shot, killed man working on car

Police are looking for the gunman who shot and killed a man who was fixing a car. The shooter also fired when police arrived.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Gerald Lowe, 54, of College Park.
Lowe was shot multiple times while working on a car at a home in the Pointer Ridge subdivision around 6:30 Sunday night. He did not live at the home, but was just a mechanic working outside the house on Buckhurst road.
When officers arrived on the scene, additional gunshots were fired nearby. Police said they do not have reason to believe the gunfire was aimed at them.
Some residents also believe Lowe was not the intended target, but just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“There’s always something going on over there. I try to stay out of everything and keep to myself,” neighbor Mose Davis said.
Jerome Williams knew Lowe and said he got a call earlier in the day to do work on the same car, but turned down the job.
“Guess I’m glad I didn’t have tools. If I had my tools, working on the car, may have been me,” Williams said.
Fulton County police detectives are following up leads, but have not determined a motive or identified a suspect.
