Police rushed to Barnes Street near 15th Street and found the young victim lying in the street.
“We heard 8 to 9 gunshots and it was terrifying. The paramedics were there. They were trying to do the CPR and other stuff. They were around the guy, but the guy wasn’t moving,” said neighbor Arjun Rahar.
Neighbors said the loud Halloween party was taking place at a short-term rental house on the street.

“I remember waking up and it was really loud. It sounded like a lot of people,” said neighbor Eldon Baines. “I’m just sort of shocked that it would happen here. I was looking at police reports recently and our street hasn’t had a reported crime in like three or four years.”
Another neighbor told Channel 2’s Tom Regan that one homeowner on the street gave police porch camera video of the incident.
“I saw the video and it was just ‘boom, boom, boom’ a lot of gunfire. The young guy who got killed, came around the corner and died on 15th street. Too close to home obviously for anyone,” said neighbor Barry Jones.
Detectives are working to identify a motive and a suspect or suspects in the deadly shooting.
