Henry County police searching for alleged scammer they say stole $1,000

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — Henry County police are releasing surveillance photos of a man and his car after they say he scammed a cashier.

Police say the man caught on camera used a fake gift card at a Walmart on Hudson Bridge Road in Stockbridge last month.

They say the suspect used the fake gift card to “buy” $1,000 worth of merchandise.

The man could then be seen leaving the store in a black SUV driven by someone else.

Neither person has been identified.

Police say the man is wanted on charges of theft by deception.
