Kamiylah Sarai Ealy, 25, of Dahlonega, faces charges of financial transaction card theft, financial transaction card fraud and elder exploitation, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began Sept. 23, 2025, when the victim’s family contacted the sheriff’s office after finding irregularities in his financial accounts.

The family members, who live out of state, discovered the suspicious activity during a visit earlier that summer. As they looked into the transactions, they became suspicious of Ealy, who was the man’s caretaker.

HCSO fraud investigators took over the case the following day.

During a seven-week investigation, detectives linked multiple unauthorized charges on the victim’s financial transaction card to Ealy, authorities said.

Investigators determined Ealy used the card to make personal purchases from Amazon, Walmart, Kroger and other businesses without the victim’s knowledge.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Ealy on Nov. 12, 2025.

She was transported to Hall County from the Lumpkin County Jail on Oct. 6, nearly 11 months after the warrants were issued.

Ealy posted a $3,250 bond and was released from custody the same day.
