Georgia Tech said the deal also gives Veritiv a chance to work with Tech student-athletes in name, image and likeness activities.

“Georgia Tech athletics is proud to welcome Veritiv as our first-ever football jersey patch sponsor and the Official Sustainability Partner of Tech Athletics,” Georgia Tech Vice President and Director of Athletics Ryan Alpert said.

The partnership centers on three sustainability goals, according to Georgia Tech: reducing waste and advancing circularity, making procurement more sustainable, and using data and innovation to improve resource efficiency.

Georgia Tech said the Veritiv patch will be one of the first in college football history after sponsorship logos on game jerseys became effective Aug. 1 under NCAA Division I Cabinet approval.

“We’re proud to team up with Georgia Tech,” Veritiv CEO Sal Abbate said. “This partnership provides a real-world platform to demonstrate how our integrated portfolio from sustainable packaging and concessions to facility solutions and operational support can deliver impact across an organization.”

Georgia Tech football will debut the Veritiv jersey patches when the Yellow Jackets open the 2026 season on Thursday against Colorado.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field and ESPN will televise the game nationally.

Georgia Tech said it will announce jersey patch partnerships for additional sports in the coming months.
