ATLANTA — The home of a top aide in the Georgia Office of the Secretary of State was shot at early Thursday.
Robert Sinners, the communications director for Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, was home when two men opened fire near his home, he confirmed to Channel 2’s Justin Gray.
He describes waking up to gunfire LIVE on Channel 2 Action News at 5:00 p.m.
Police said they do not believe the shooting was politically motivated. No one was injured.
Atlanta Police said they responded around 12:46 a.m. to a shots fired call at a house on Wellington Street.
Officers were flagged down by witnesses who said they two men shooting toward the property.
They found multiple shell casings near the location and saw two men walking in the area that matched the description provided.
The suspects ran but were captured a short time later. They were identified as Gregory O’Neal Vaughn, 26, and Jermaine Darcel Howar, 29.
Officers said they recovered a firearm and multiple rounds from Howard. Both men are in custody with multiple charges pending.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
