FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputies had an extra special assignment on Thursday to coordinate a parade to cheer Sgt. T. Walker. She rang the bell at Piedmont West Medical Center after courageously completing 8 rounds of chemo in 5 months. You’re a survivor, Sergeant Walker!!!
The Fulton County Sheriff's Department went on a special mission Thursday to honor one of their own who was completing a very special milestone.
Sgt. Tequila Walker has been through 8 rounds of chemotherapy in 5 months. This week, she rang the bell signaling the end of her treatment at Piedmont West Medical Center.
Her colleagues weren't going to let social distancing keep them from celebrating right along with her as she left the hospital. A line of police vehicles, sirens blazing, greeted her at the hospital doors.
Wearing masks, her colleagues clapped, cheered and prayed with Walker.
"She says it was tough, but God got her through it," the Sheriff's Department said on Facebook. "She’s thankful to her doctors, friends, and family. While she was in pink head to toe, her colleagues in tan and brown were there with blue lights and sirens to show her how much they love and support her."
