Fulton animal shelter says it’s full, in desperate need to find dogs loving homes

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Calling all dog lovers: Fulton County Animal Services needs your help. The shelter put out the call to action on its Instagram page today.

The county shelter says they are full but more dogs are coming every day. The staff expects to have more than 300 dogs in the next two days.

Officials are pleading for families who want to give the dogs loving homes to adopt them.

Right now, dogs are having to share space. Officials said the noise and stress can be bad for the animals.

“The volume is louder every day, dogs are scared and shut down, and many are getting sick with respiratory infections,” the shelter wrote.

If you cannot care for a dog long-term, animal services is also looking for fosters. People can sign up to foster for two or four weeks and the program helps gives the animals a break from the shelter environment.

Anyone who wants to consider fostering can sign up here. You can find more information and photos of adoptable animals on the county’s website here.
