The school district said no students were involved, and all students and staff are safe.

Palmetto Elementary will remain in hard lockdown until law enforcement clears the scene. For safety reasons, parents and community members were asked not to come to the school at this time.

All 550 Palmetto Elementary students are being relocated to Bear Creek Middle School in Fairburn. Additional information, including reunification instructions, will be shared as it becomes available.

Chattahoochee Hills police asked people to avoid the area around the school and Carlton Road to allow first responders and investigators to work without obstruction.
