We’re working to speak with police about when the investigation started, for Channel 2 Action News starting at 4:00 p.m.
Channel 2 Action News reached out to the Bremen City Schools district. Officials said they are aware of the investigation and Matthews is no longer an employee.
“We take any situation involving the safety and well-being of our students very seriously,” Superintendent Mr. Shannon Christian said. “When concerns are raised, we act swiftly. We follow established processes, and we involve the appropriate authorities to ensure a thorough review.”
The statement did not say when Matthews was fired. He remains in the Haralson County jail with no bond.
