Firefighters pin down carjacking suspect in Johns Creek

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Firefighters helped subdue a man accused of crashing his car and trying to carjack at least two other drivers.

Johns Creek Police say officers received a call about a possible carjacking on Old Alabama near Haynes Bridge roads at about 2 on Friday afternoon.

When police arrived they found firefighters restraining a man and quickly took him into custody.

Police say the suspect was driving down Old Alabama Road when he got into an accident. The man jumped out of his car, ran from the scene and tried to carjack a victim in another car by breaking her window. The suspect then allegedly tried to carjack a second person before firefighters stopped him.

Police have not released the name of the individual.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries during the incident.
