FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. — The Fayette County Animal Shelter is waiving all dog adoption fees through Labor Day as the facility reaches full capacity.
The shelter seeks to clear kennel space for incoming animals.
The promotion, which began Aug. 21, comes as officials urge residents considering adoption to visit the facility immediately. Shelter officials said every completed adoption creates space for another animal arriving in need of shelter and care.

The shelter at 1131 Highway 74 South in Peachtree City has dogs available across a wide range of sizes and personalities. All dogs offered for adoption are up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered and microchipped.
Shelter officials noted that as dogs stay longer at the facility, finding space for new arrivals becomes increasingly difficult.

“Please don’t wait and hope someone else will come,” shelter officials said in an appeal. “These dogs need adopters, families and people willing to look at one of them and say, ‘That’s my dog.’”
The fee-waived adoptions will continue through Labor Day. The shelter opens daily at 11 a.m.
