Officers deliver gifts to children on Christmas

Dunwoody police deliver toys to children.

DUNWOODY, Ga. — They may not be riding in a sleigh, but officers with the Dunwoody Police Department were playing Santa Claus Sunday evening.

In a Facebook post, one of the officers posted video of them delivering presents to children at the Peachtree Place North apartments.

Dozens of children and family members came out of their homes to find this surprise by the police department.

The department said they’re not stopping at that one apartment complex, they will be traveling to another one to surprise even more children.

“This was the surplus that we had from Christmas for Kids, and we do this every year whatever we have left we come out to the neighborhood and do a little impromptu gift giveaway,” said a lieutenant handing out gifts. “It’s always a great way to connect with kids and a great way to start the new year.”
