One of those projects on Interstate 20 westbound between Fairington Road and the Interstate 285 Interchange. Drivers can expect two alternating lane closures on I-20 along that stretch.
All three projects run into each other, and work begins at 9 p.m. Friday. These will not be full closures, but drivers will feel the impact.

Natalie Dale, a Georgia Department of Transportation, told Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes that it is confusing.
“The I-285 rebuild, which again is that 17-mile stretch on the west side, you also have two separate projects of a big interchange reconstruction I-285 on the east side at I-20 and 285 and 20 on the west side.”
One driver told Channel 2 Action News that best thing to do when GDOT has these projects is to stay at home. The driver further added that GDOT is working to improve the roads, so drivers just have to deal with it.
