DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Homeowners in a DeKalb County neighborhood say daily blasting tied to a massive warehouse project is rattling their homes and raising concerns about property damage.

Residents living near a construction site on Stonecrest Industrial Way told Channel 2’s Ashli Lincoln they’ve been hearing and feeling explosions nearly every day for about a month.

We’ll show you just how loud the booms are, LIVE on Channel 2 Action News at 5 p.m.

“There’s the blast,” one resident said after another explosion shook the area. “No matter where you’re at. Wow. This is your alarm clock every day.”

Homeowners say the blasting sometimes started as early as 7 a.m. and, at one point, was even happening on Sundays.

The blasting is tied to a project by IDI Logistics, which is building three large warehouses at the site.

Residents say they had no opportunity to weigh in before the project was approved and claim they weren’t notified until after the City of Stonecrest had already signed off on it.

Since the blasting began, some homeowners say they’ve noticed cracks forming in walls, shifting foundations and buckling hardwood floors.

Their biggest concern now is whether the damage could affect the value of their homes.

Residents say the city eventually stepped in and stopped the early morning and Sunday blasting, but many believe more action is needed.

One homeowners association is now exploring possible legal action against the developer as residents push for answers and accountability.
