COBB COUNTY, Ga. — One person died after a crash involving four vehicles on Interstate 285.
The crash happened Saturday night on I-285 eastbound near Interstate 75 in Cobb County.

Cobb County police’s preliminary investigation found that a driver in a 2006 black Ford F-150 experienced tire failure.
At the same time, a black 2024 Hyundai Tucson, a silver 2017 Jeep Patriot and a white 2013 Honda Civic were traveling the same direction on I-285, with multiple collisions happening around 10:26 p.m. as a result of the truck being inoperable.

Police said they are working to confirm the exact sequence of events, but said collisions caused major damage to the Jeep, Hyundai and Honda.
A passenger in the Hyundai died at the scene. Channel 2 Action News has reached out to learn the victim’s identity.
The Honda Civic driver had minor injuries. No one else was injured, according to police.
