Metro Atlanta county expands early voting locations ahead of November election

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The 2026 midterm elections are almost upon us and a metro Atlanta county is opening up more opportunities for people to vote.

The DeKalb County Government announced Wednesday that it was adding two more locations for early voting.

Going forward, residents of DeKalb County will be able to vote at 22 different locations, adding to the previously approved locations greenlit in July by the Board of Registration and Elections.

“Expanding to 22 Early Voting locations reflects our commitment to listening to the community and making the voting process as accessible and convenient as possible,” said DeKalb VRE Director Keisha L. Smith. “These additional sites give voters more choices during the final week of Early Voting and support our broader goal of ensuring every eligible DeKalb County voter has the information and access needed to cast their ballot with confidence.”

County officials said the additional locations were added after receiving feedback from an August stakeholder meeting focused on the early voting period and access for voters.

With the expansion, DeKalb County will operate early voting locations at Living Grace Lutheran Church in Tucker and the Wade Walker Park Family YMCA in Stone Mountain.

Both locations will be open for voters to cast their ballots on weekdays only, from Oct. 26 to Oct. 30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Georgia early voting officially starts on Oct. 13.

In DeKalb County, voting locations are open on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Oct. 13 to Oct. 30.

On weekends, voting is open on Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 from noon to 6 p.m.
