DeKalb County offering $100 gift cards for people who get vaccine, booster

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County is offering another round of $100 gift cards to anyone who gets vaccinated at an event this weekend.

The County Board of Health and DeKalb Fire Rescue are partnering with the county to host the event on Dec. 4 at the former Doraville K-Mart at 5597 Buford Highway. Anyone 12 years old and older can get a vaccine, though children ages 12 to 17 can only receive the Pfizer vaccine.

Anyone else will have a choice of the Moderna or Johnson and Johnson vaccines. The event will also provide booster shots for adults age 18 and older who have completed their first series of vaccines.

The vaccines are free, but county officials are asking people to bring their insurance information and photo ID. You can get vaccinated for free even if you do not have insurance. People getting a second dose or booster should also bring their CDC vaccination card.

The event starts at 8 a.m. The Doraville MARTA vaccination site will be closed that day.

This is one of several incentivized vaccine events the county has held in recent months. Thousands of people have been vaccinated at the events.
