TUCKER, Ga. — The Tucker City Council approved emergency funding to repair a large sinkhole in the city.
The sinkhole has been impacting residents since July.
City officials are working to address the sinkhole on Windsong Way quickly, saying that it “jeopardizes six different homes along the road.”
The city council received an update about the situation on Monday night, eventually voting to fund repairs.

The sinkhole has been open on Windsong Way since July 20 after a pipe failure caused the collapse.
According to a memo from city staff, conditions at the site of the sinkhole are still deteriorating.
“The site has degraded significantly from our initial inspection on July 20, 2026 and there is a possibility of further damage to the roadway,” staff said in a report to the Tucker City Council. “Since this is the only way in/out for about six residential properties, it’s critical we address this quickly to mitigate the risk of further damage to the right of way.”
