DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A death investigation is underway in a DeKalb County neighborhood Friday morning.
Police first responded to the scene along Fisher Trail near Briarcliff and Clairmont Roads just after midnight. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office later arrived around 2:30 a.m., confirming at least one person is dead.

Investigators are focused on a driveway in front of one of the homes. There is also a Volkswagen with a shattered rear window, suggesting it may have been hit by gunfire.
Police have not confirmed whether this was a shooting.
The scene is less than half a mile from Sagamore Hills Elementary School. Channel 2 Action News has reached out to DeKalb County Schools to see if any bus routes are affected by the investigation.
