Dead people targeted in home burglaries, including NASCAR legend

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A string of burglaries has targeted dead people and their families.

The case spans from North Carolina, At the home of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, to a Cobb County home on Laurel Creek Trail.

The suspect watched the news and social media to find these expensive homes.

Investigators say he exploited their deaths by finding out when the house would be empty.

On Georgia Tech’s website, Sheetal Wrzesien is remembered as a member of the board of trustees for the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and an engineering leader at Google with over 20 years of experience in various tech roles.

Last month, her life was tragically taken at the hands of her own husband, who is also accused of shooting their son.

Terrell Williams is now accused of breaking into her home one week after the shooting.

Investigators say he was captured on surveillance cameras inside.

It led Cobb County Police to contact investigators in North Carolina, where they believe Williams was connected to a similar burglary.

Investigators there released video of the crime where someone stole guns, gold coins, $30,000 in cash and more from Biffle’s home weeks after he and his family were killed in a plane crash.

Investigators say NASCAR memorabilia was also stolen but later returned to the Biffle family.
