COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol is trying to find the driver responsible for killing a man in a hit-and-run last month.

The incident happened along Winn Dixie Drive behind the Starbucks near State Route 34.
According to GSP, troopers were called to a hit-and-run on Sept. 26 involving a person on an electric bicycle.
When troopers arrived, they learned the victim, 65-year-old Stanley McCheyne, was already being taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Troopers said after talking to multiple bystanders on scene, they learned no one witnessed the accident.
Authorities learned on Sept. 29 that the victim had died from his injuries.
GSP said it’s working to learn what led up to the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
