NEWNAN, Ga. — The Newnan Police Department says three suspects were charged after a shooting on Wilcoxen Street over the weekend.
Police said officers responded to Wilcoxen Street on Saturday afternoon after a 911 call for shots fired.
When they arrived, officers found shell casings in the road and area nearby.
Two people told officers they were shot at by “several people traveling in a white Kia passenger car.”

They said they returned fire during the incident.
Detectives got to the scene and found that at least two homes were struck by bullets.
As a result of the initial investigation, police said Demetrius Daunte Freeman, 25, and Fermandez Ardell Jones, 26, both of Newnan, were charged with aggravated assault.

Further investigation over the weekend led to multiple videos shared with police helping identify the white Kia and additional people believed to be involved in the shooting.
On Monday evening, officers found the Kia on Cliff Circle. Police detained three people there, secured the Kia and a home on cliff Circle
Evidence believed to be connected to the original shooting was found and NPD detectives recovered several guns and marijuana at the scene.
As a result, police said Jami Remon Bowles, 22 of Newnan, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
All three named individuals were taken to the Coweta County Jail upon their arrests, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation and police are “working to speak with several additional people of interest.”
