COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A portion of Interstate 20 westbound is closed in Cobb County after an crash in which someone suffered serious injuries.
According to Triple Team Traffic, the crash happened on I-20 just past Riverside Parkway, shutting down all westbound lanes.

Georgia Department of Transportation cameras in the area show an SUV crashed off into the woods while police and fire crews block the interstate.
Police say the interstate will likely be closed for “an extended period of time.”
Triple Team Traffic suggests using Hwy. 78 as an alternate route.

Channel 2 Action News is working to learn the extent of the injuries and what led up to the crash.
There is no word when the interstate is anticipated to reopen.
