COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — Firefighters are currently battling a massive apartment fire in Clayton County.

On Thursday, just before 5 p.m., Clayton County fire crews responded to heavy smoke and flames in the 5800 block of Riverdale Road in College Park.
The St. James Place apartments are located at the address.
News Chopper2 flew over the complex, where smoke billowed into the sky.
Clayton County police confirmed that two dogs have died as a result of the fire.

Officials are asking everyone to avoid the area.
Authorities have not said if any residents have been injured or what may have caused the fire.
Firefighters are currently working to contain the fire.
