CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a Clayton County Sheriff’s Office deputy Tuesday, charging him with misuse of the Flock license plate reader system.

Deputy Errol Farrell Jr., 40, of Lithonia, surrendered to authorities following a GBI investigation.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office asked state agents to look into potential misuse of its Flock Safety system.

According to GBI, preliminary information shows Farrell used the automated license plate reader system for non-law enforcement purposes.
Farrell turned himself in Tuesday and was booked into the Clayton County Jail.
The GBI Atlanta Regional Investigative Office in Conyers is leading the investigation, which remains active.

Once the GBI completes its investigation, agents will submit the full case file to the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
