CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A woman is dead and leaves behind children after she was shot during a domestic dispute with her partner, Clayton County police say.

On Dec. 30 just after 10 a.m., CCPD officers responded to the 4400 block of Northwind Drive in Ellenwood for a person shot call.
When they arrived to the scene, they found 45-year-old Alicia Alston laying in front of the residence after being shot multiple times. Police said their investigation showed Alicia and Johnnie Alston were involved in a domestic dispute, leading to the shooting.

Alicia was taken to the hospital where she died from her wounds.
CCPD officials obtained warrants to arrest Johnnie Alston for malice murder, reckless conduct, five counts of cruelty to children, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He was arrested on Tuesday, police said.
