WOODSTOCK, Ga. — The Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office announced the conviction of a man for abusing multiple children as far back as 1981.
Harold William Duvall, 71, was placed under investigation in June 2024 after a mother told the Woodstock Police Department her teenage child told her about Duvall’s abuse.
In a forensic interview, the DA’s office said the child told police Duvall made him engage in a sex act at age five.

At trial in Cherokee County Court, prosecutors showed the jury evidence of abuse of three other children dating as far back as 1981.
Witnesses at the four-day trial included the victim from the 2024 investigation, family members, similar victims from other cases and experts in child abuse dynamics.
After an hour of deliberation, the jury found Duvall guilty of aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation and cruelty to children in the first degree.
Sentencing has not been scheduled yet.
