LOVEJOY, Ga. — The Lovejoy Police Department is investigating a shooting from yesterday afternoon near Hasting Bridge Road.

Officers received a 911 call about a person who had been shot, and upon arrival saw a boy suffering from a gunshot wound.
The boy was taken to an emergency medical facility and is in stable condition at this time.
During the initial response, officers detained several people believed to be involved and an arrest has been made.

However, detectives with the Lovejoy Police Department Criminal Investigative Division are continuing to investigate what led up to the shooting by conducting interviews and collecting evidence.
Investigators say this was likely an isolated incident with no current threat to the general public.
