Did a fake officer pull you over? Police believe suspected impersonator has done it before

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Cartersville police are looking for additional victims of a man accused of posing as an officer.

According to investigators, 29-year-old Justin Greene was pretending to help them arrest a pair of suspects, but found himself in handcuffs instead.

Police say Greene showed up to felony stop last week and attempted to help police bring two suspects into custody.

They say Greene identified himself as a “Public Safety Officer” and pulled up in what looked like an unmarked police car with lights and a siren, pulled out a replica firearm and was wearing a badge.

Police say Greene left the scene before officers were able to identify him.

Greene was ultimately identified and arrested on Wednesday in his car. Officers found tactical gear, replica firearms and fake credentials that looked like Georgia Police Credentials.

Since the arrest, Police say they learned Greene was previously arrested for impersonating a public officer.

He is currently being held in the Bartow County Jail on charges of impersonating a police officer, willful obstruction of law enforcement, reckless conduct and more.

Cartersville police would like you to contact them if you believe you came into contact with Greene as he was impersonating a police officer.
