Woman charged with murder after fight at Atlanta apartment ends with man dead

ATLANTA — A woman has found herself behind bars and charged with murder less than 24 hours after a fight at an apartment complex ended in gunfire.

Officers were called to a fight at Ashley Cascade Apartment Homes on Kimberly Way SW Tuesday evening. While officers were responding, dispatchers notified them that a person had been shot. He later died from his injuries.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

On Wednesday, officers arrested 24-year-old Tynessia Naji on warrants charging her with aggravated assault and felony murder.

Investigators have not released any details on what led up to the fatal shooting.

Naji is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance Thursday morning.
