ATLANTA — State investigators are taking a closer look at one of Atlanta’s oldest cemeteries after discovering concerns that go beyond maintenance issues.
Officials with the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office served paperwork and conducted inspections at Greenwood Cemetery this week as part of an ongoing investigation into the cemetery’s operations.
The confession the cemetery management made about the investigation, LIVE on Channel 2 Action News at 6 p.m.
The latest investigation follows concerns involving what officials describe as potentially misplaced remains.
Investigators and inspectors spent the day examining the grounds after officials said Greenwood failed to meet some terms of a consent order reached earlier this year.
