On Thursday, Biden unexpectedly signed the $1.9 trillion virus relief bill a day early. The American Rescue Plan includes $1,400 stimulus checks for most Americans, tax credits for families with children, extended unemployment benefits and more. The bill also includes about $8.2 billion for state and local governments in Georgia.

The package was unanimously opposed by Republicans.

Biden’s last visit to Georgia was Jan. 4, the day before a contentious Senate race that saw Democratic challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff win over Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.

Warnock and Ossoff’s win flipped the Senate blue, giving Democrats majorities in both the U.S. House and Senate.
