ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect captured on surveillance video following a fatal shooting in northwest Atlanta.
According to investigators, officers responded Sept. 11 to a person shot call at 2798 Peek Road NW, where they found Andre Wade suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and leg. Wade was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Ring camera video captured the suspect forcing his way into Wade’s apartment before the shooting. Video from after the shooting shows the suspect running from the apartment and limping away from the scene.
Investigators describe the suspect as a Black male standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11. He was last seen wearing a hoodie with the phrase “Motivate and Elevate” on the back.

According to police, the suspect suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg during the incident. Investigators say that injury can be seen in the surveillance footage, which shows the suspect limping as he flees.
Authorities have warned that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
The Atlanta Police Homicide Unit is urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the case to contact investigators at 404-577-8477 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers Atlanta.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
