ATLANTA — A group that has tried to make Atlanta a better city for decades celebrated its 70th anniversary on Sunday.

The Atlanta chapter of The Links, Incorporated held its platinum anniversary celebration.
It was the first chapter of the African American women’s organization in the state.

Mayor Andre Dickens thanked the group for all it has achieved.
“Your presence has been felt throughout the entire region. You have built a powerful record of service and giving to some of our most underserved communities throughout this region,” Dickens said.
The organization focuses on five areas including services to youth, the arts, health and human services, national trends and international trends.
