The Georgia Department of Transportation said the closures are part of its I-285 Westside Rebuild project, impacting parts of Cobb and Fulton counties.
The reconstruction effort consists of three projects to replace pavement along I-285 westside, according to GDOT.
Construction on the projects started in early 2026 and includes replacement of shoulders, concrete median barriers, glare screens and guardrails along the travel corridor.
State officials said the reconstruction is a $370 million investment to enhance the westside corridor of I-285 and improve the safety and mobility for one of Georgia’s most traveled interstates.
