ATLANTA — “I’m so so, so sorry. I’ve never been in trouble.”
That’s what Atlanta police say one of the two suspects told officers after a stolen car crash led to his arrest last month.

On March 16, officers were alerted about a stolen vehicle traveling near Campbellton Road and Bent Creek Way in southwest Atlanta.
As officers began setting up a perimeter, they found the car after it crashed into a pole near Campbellton Road SW and Bent Creek Way SW, leaving it disabled.
APD said one suspect tried to run away from the scene but was quickly caught. A second suspect was also detained after a bystander pointed officers in the direction of a man running away from the car.

Police identified the suspects as Jaylen Hollaway and Maurice Hines. The vehicle had been reported stolen by East Point police.
Hollaway was charged with criminal damage to property (second degree) and theft by taking.
Hines was charged with theft by receiving, criminal damage to property (second degree), possession of marijuana less than an ounce, reckless driving, hit and run, driving without a valid license, improper lane change and obstruction.
The pair was booked into the Fulton County Jail.
