ATLANTA — The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced another $5 million would be headed to Georgia for recovery and mitigation projects.
The six projects chosen by FEMA are related to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, Hurricane Helene and other disasters, according to the agency.
The $5 million for Georgia projects is part of $348 million rolling out across the United States from FEMA.

Here’s where the funding is going, according to the federal agency:
- $1 million to Excelsior Electric Membership Corporation for emergency protective measures following Hurricane Helene
- $499,000 to Piedmont Hospital, Inc. for disaster management costs from COVID-19
- Nearly $2 million to the city of Savannah for its Stormwater Master Plan
- More than $520,000 to the state for a generator and emergency power project
- More than $185,000 to White County for warning sirens
FEMA officials said these project grant awards “are the latest examples of billions of dollars in disaster recovery provided by FEMA to support state and local communities as they work to rebuild from recent natural disasters.”
