Deadline Tuesday for APS students to get devices for home learning

ATLANTA — Atlanta Public Schools says families who missed the original device distribution window have to contact their school by 5 p.m. Tuesday so they can get them the equipment they need for home learning.

Gov. Brian Kemp has ordered all public schools to remain closed through April 24 as the state continues to battle the coronavirus outbreak.

“The district’s technology team will assess those needs and make devices available for pickup starting on Thursday, April 2, at the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Learning and Leadership (CLL), at 130 Trinity Avenue SW, while supplies last,” the district said in a news release.

The district said parents and caregivers should expect a call on Thursday with instruction on picking up the devices.

“Only students with preassigned devices can be supported through this process, and there will not be any extra devices. All ‘last call’ distributions will end on Friday, April 3,” the district said.
