Metro Atlanta Chick-fil-A closes after employee tests positive for COVID-19

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A metro Atlanta Chick-fil-A is closing immediately after a worker was diagnosed with COVID-19.

The owner of the Chick-fil-A on Highway 81 in McDonough said he decided to voluntarily close the restaurant after learning an employee was sick.

Mark Fleming said he is working with local authorities as well as disinfecting and deep cleaning the restaurant.

"We cannot give healthcare advice," Flemming said in a statement. "If you are concerned about your possible exposure, please contact our local health department."

A reopening date will be announced after clearance from local health authorities.

No information was released about the employee.

Henry County has reported 58 cases and 2 deaths as of Monday morning. The county has prohibited in-person dining.
